Design Insight
When you think of a glass bathroom cabinet you probably think more of a medicine cabinet than anything else. But while this can look good, it doesn't have to be the only glass fronted cabinet you have in your bathroom.
It would be perfectly possible to make every cabinet a glass fronted one – and you might benefit from doing just this.
Uniform Design Appeal
First of all it gives the cabinets a uniform feel. Instead of having one glass cabinet standing out on its own, they will all look the same. And it can provide a nice run of cabinets all along one wall too if you have the room.
Visual Consistency
- Uniform appearance
- Cohesive design
- Professional look
Wall Integration
- Continuous run
- Space utilization
- Clean lines
Space Enhancement
Secondly it can make the room look bigger. If you have a particularly small bathroom then a smart use of mirrors can increase its size as far as the eye is concerned. Every inch of the bathroom will be reflected in the mirrors, and if you use mirrored tiles along the opposite wall you can have your tiny bathroom going on forever!
Space Illusion Technique
This is a neat trick that can really give a totally new look and feel to your bathroom from the moment those mirrors are installed.
Versatile Storage Solutions
You also have more versatility with your bathroom cabinets than you might think. You can now get tall cupboards of all kinds that have mirrored doors from top to bottom. One particular style sits on a base and revolves, so that you can hide all those messy but necessary items inside the cupboard, before revolving it so you can see the mirrors the rest of the time.
Revolving Design
- Hide messy items
- Show mirrors when needed
- Versatile functionality
Full Height Options
- Mirrored doors top to bottom
- Maximum storage space
- Modern appearance
Steam Management
The one disadvantage of having this many mirrors is that they get steamed up whenever you use the bath or shower. But there is a solution to this. Simply use some glass cleaner that says 'anti-fog' on it. The idea of this is generally to use the spray inside your car, so the windscreen is kept clean and doesn't steam up during the winter.
Anti-Fog Solution
But in reality you can also use this on your bathroom mirrors to keep them from steaming up as well. You will need to use it quite regularly to maintain the effect, but it does work well and it means you can see in your mirrors even when you are enjoying a nice hot shower.
Anti-Fog Products
- Glass cleaner with anti-fog
- Regular application needed
- Effective steam prevention
Maintenance Tips
- Regular cleaning schedule
- Maintain mirror clarity
- Preserve visual appeal
Design Recommendation
So think carefully when you are considering adding one or two mirrored bathroom cabinets, because you might want to add more.
